Incoming garden report 23.7.18.2.6

…This is the captain reaching out to those that are tuned in to this frequency. I am pleased to present the latest update on the current state of our enchanting fairy garden. Our supply lines for the project seems to be ever ample and new equipment is being sought. The fairy garden has become something to manage for sure. But it is all worth it in the end.

Supply lines

Many things are needed when you start your very own fairy garden. Dirt, flowers, seeds, decorations, things to bring and keep the fairies, that it can get exciting. Of course, I try to keep to our simple four steps. With that being said, the acquisition of the stuff to build my fairy garden up seems to never end. It could be because I have no more room to expand, and my design has incorporated the entire areas I had set out. Now I need to catch up to the projects I have supplies ready for. I have a small village planned that I will need help building. I have to finish the yellow brick road and find out how much grass seed I will need. I still have stairs to finish with boulders I have collected. The list does not end when you get involved in your fairy garden. It can take over.

Equipment was needed

As projects start to accumulate, so does the need for broken down tools to be replaced and new tools purchased. New areas require new equipment. Had no idea I would also be taking care of a lawn, and now I have a sprinkler. Now the most important part was the hose, This hose is one of my personal favorites. It always helps to be able to water over great distances. Most likely, if you have an average lawn, the 50 foot should suffice. Always get as much as possible. You never know when you will need an extra hose. I found out I needed 100 feet when I thought I would only need 50. Measure it out if you can.

Time management

The big investment is time. You have to account for daily watering when raising a fairy garden. Some gardens need a cup of water, some, like the one we are building for the host here, takes 45 minutes to water and tends to daily. Fortunately I am able to also water other parts of the place. I have some blackberries and roses I include. So many flowers all over the property here. I find devoting time to the garden, leaving some parts wild and clipping and trimming other parts, making sure it’s watered and cared for, and feeding the wildlife to attract fairies, makes all the difference in it.

Worth it in the end for a good fairy garden.

The totality of time spent making and cultivating your garden to bring in the fairies is worth it. Even if you only get them when you’re not looking, it helps keep the world of magic and imagination alive. In the end that is why I do it. I want that feeling of imagination to always stay nearby. I want the world of magic to light up my adult life. It makes it all worth it when reality comes down to it. We can all benefit with a little more magic and wonder in our daily lives. A fairy garden goes a long way to getting that magic in there.

Happy cultivating!
